Most of us do not even consider turning things on their head..topsy turvy style.
How often have you heard sayings like these:
Every cloud has a silver lining.
The answer is in the problem.
A crisis is an opportunity.
Yet when we get so caught up in our problems we can fail to see opportunity. I have found over time that in the solving of issues the answer can be right under my nose; hidden in the problem.
We are rarely taught to think like this at school. The art of thinking is not a subject in most places of education. Many teachers might say what are you talking about? How can I teach thinking?
Mainstream education can hinder freedom of thought we are usually trained to think in one way – logically/ vertical.
"Lateral" thinking does not usually get a look in to assist our creativity. Indeed many of us may not even know what lateral thinking is and remain stuck in a logical thinking only.
"Lateral" is a dimension that can run alongside a thought whereas vertical or conventional thinking only projects forward predictably from the present situation.
This lateral thinking, or I refer to it as topsy turvy or upside down thinking, turns everything on its head. The process allows us to positively anticipate a number of acceptable outcomes- positive attitude.
When presented with "problem" situations try and "jump outside" the box. Recognize if there is fear and then continue to explore extreme possibilities. They may seem ridiculous but this takes you away from the more typical way of locking on to a particular outcome within the tight boundaries of your comfort zone.
When using lateral thinking we bring our creativity to the fore. We can further expand to see possible solutions through relaxation and meditation. These practices allow creativity to be become greatly enhanced by your connection to the universe through the right side of your brain.
When you get to deal with a crisis situations in this manner you have begun to realize that there is an opportunity in the crisis and what actually gets in the way of seeing the opportunity is fear.
It is when faced with a crisis or adversity that your attitude and manner of thinking in life comes out.
You get to know yourself. Will you be a victim or will you seize and look for the probable hidden opportunity? ..The "topsy turvy" method.
If a "crisis" happens and you find it is similar to a situation that has previously occurred you may see a pattern showing. This is a clear signal to have a good look at your life and consider why it is that this keeps happening.
Life is not just a set of events that occur, it is a journey with events in it; these events can be experiences that further your life's intentions.
Life events happen to us anyway and we can learn through them:
• That it is possible to get to a better or even a new life by using intuition.
• That you can be bold and courageous.
• That you may change your life. You are not "hard wired".
• That you have within you a special strength and energy.
• That you can have patience and trust.
• That you can find your focus and know that anything you focus on grows.
• That all manner of opportunities can happen for you along the way.
• That as a crisis passes, another one can arise - that is life- but it is how you deal with the crisis that matters..
• That as a crisis occurs similar to a previous one; you may need to view your life to break the pattern.
• That crises really are opportunities even though sometimes our emotions blur this out and we are unable to use the topsy turvy method.
• That you do not blame the world, rather you need the right attitude with gratitude from within yourself.
Most of us have had some crisis and fear in our lives but we have pulled through somehow because from somewhere we came up with a strength, and energy that changed things.
But we rarely think about where this strength or energy comes from. At some point you saw that there was a way out of the crisis, an "AHA" moment came up from within you – your inner self, the "topsy turvy" way.
Sometimes it is easier to be in a panic and be angry or even judge the world as being against you. But once you find commitment from your inner strength to a new outcome all manner of things happen to help you. - Synchronicity
When you read William Murray above think of what you have probably heard successful people say when explaining how they “moved mountains”. Something like “I had a dream, I didn’t know how I would get there, but I was totally committed and looking back all sorts of things occurred to help me”
Finding an intuitive answer to our problems is available to us all.
Sometimes we fight the situation and loose the intuitive answer, try not to fight life you will go against the natural energy flow. You will miss out on seeing "topsy turvy" in your life.
Sometimes situation are so difficult that you naturally surrender, commonly called giving in, but then a calmness to deal with the situation can arise. This calmness coming from something, the universe, God whatever it is, came without you even deciding it.
As you go through life it is wonderful to know about this "topsy turvy" way and it is with this realization that you can surrender and accept each situation as it comes.
By doing so you can create a new life for yourself
In surrendering and accepting that you cannot control all events in life you will definitely realize you can control your responses to these events. Continue to look for the opportunity in the problem. Remember to do it "topsy turvy".
Life is full of crisis and therefore it is a fact that life is full of opportunity.Personal Development Enlightenment > Meaning Of Ego > Topsy Turvy
